Water Filtration System

MAE HONG SON, THAILAND

Water filtration system constructed for the Wat Hong Son Wanaram orphanage. This is phase one of a three-phase water project including water filtration, solar panels, and solar-powered water pump. The Thailand-based design team used common local materials for improved cost, better sustainability and ease of maintenance. The project is located in a mountainous rural region near the Myanmar border.  

Solar/Water System Research

REDWOOD VALLEY, CA

Wat Abhayagiri is a Buddhist monestary in the Thai Forest tradition located in rural Redwood Valley, California (USA). The monestary uses several solar and water treatment systems locally designed and operated over many years. The in-depth tour by Tan Yaniko was invaluable to increase our understanding of system design, modern options, cost tradeoffs, and best practices.

Solar-Powered Water Well and Pumping Station

MAE HONG SON, THAILAND

Final phases of the water project for the Wat Hong Son Wanaram orphanage.  This project completed the digging of a new well, installation of a water pump, and solar installation for powering the water pump.

Mindfulness Education

SUNNYVALE, CA

A very special opportunity to learn from one of the most respected Buddhist teachers in the Thai Forest Tradition, the Venerable Ajahn Jayasaro, through a community talk held at the Sunnyvale Community Center. Currently based in Khao Yai, Thailand, Ajahn Jayasaro has spoken at a variety of forums during his travels to the San Francisco Bay Area, including Stanford University and at leading Silicon Valley companies.
